The ZR2 version of the Chevrolet Colorado was a great addition to the Chevrolet line of trucks. It imbued the Colorado with the ability to conquer a variety of off-road obstacles, thanks to a slew of new equipment and tuning. Already, the ZR2 has become a favorite version of the Colorado.
Recent rumors have spread that Chevrolet is planning to release a similar version of the Silverado. It will allegedly be named the Chevrolet Silverado ZRX, according to pending trademark records. With that in mind, will we get a Silverado that’s specifically made for traveling on unpaved paths?
According to theories, this iteration of the legendary truck will be ready for off-roading adventures. It will bear many of the same enhancements that the Colorado ZR2 has, like an improved suspension utilizing Multimatic DSSV dampers along with rear and front electronic-locking differentials that increase traction.
The Silverado ZRX would probably contain the same V8 engine that other high-level Silverado models will carry, without receiving any special enhancements. However, there is a chance that Chevrolet could offer a diesel option.
It will still be many years until you’re able to buy the ZRX version of the Silverado, so in the meantime, check out the other trims of the Silverado that we have at Bud Weiser Motors.
