You love your Amazon Alexa device because it’s the best assistant you’ve ever had. Who else will start your morning meditation playlist, warm up your GM car, and order your morning coffee for you without complaint? Believe it or not, Alexa is getting ready to be even more helpful.
OnStar Guardian Coming To Alexa
Amazon and General Motors have teamed up yet again to bring one of the most useful features available on Chevy vehicles to your beloved Alexa smart assistant. The two titans announced that an all-new OnStar Guardian skill is coming to Alexa soon.
As you probably know, OnStar is a life-saving technology featured in GM vehicles that allows you to connect to emergency advisors in the event of a crisis. Thanks to this new partnership between GM and Amazon, OnStar subscribers will be able to get help from Emergency-Certified OnStar Advisors if there is a fire, intrusion, or medical emergency by simply saying, “Alexa, call for help.”
OnStar Customers Will Get This First
OnStar has been around for 25 years, and its latest move to Alexa is a natural extension of the service for its loyal subscribers. The new Alexa-enabled skill will first be available for existing OnStar customers, but is anticipated to roll out to all Alexa owners interested in subscribing by 2022.
If you want to be first in line, come find your OnStar-enabled vehicle here at Bud Weiser Motors in Beloit, Wisconsin, today.
